This Halloween is my baby's first Halloween! and I really want it to be special and I obviously want her to look super cute! Then again I'm not the type of person who likes to spend a lot of money on something that will only be worn once! well.. unless it's a very special occasion! but I also didn't want her to be wearing the same thing most babies will be wearing. I wanted to make her something original budget friendly and C U T E! So I decided to make her a "witch" costume! (tutu) and believe me it's very easy to make! You can make this tutu dresses for any occasion! you can customize it and decorate it any way you want!
Things you will need:
- Tulle of your color choice
- Ribbons of different widths and colors
- 3 headbands (for an 8-12 month old)
- Buttons
- Foam figures (stickers)
- Kneedle and thread
- Glue gun and hot glue
- Scissors
First you need to sow together the three headbands in the order you want them to be. Then cut the back and glue two pieces of ribbon on each side. Now measure your child's tummy and add the amount of ribbon needed to fit right, glue the ribbon to the left side and sow three buttons on the right side on each headband. Cut a small hole enough for the button to fit through each ribbon.
Second, measure your child's height and according to how long you want the tutu to fit on them cut a lot of tulle strings and put them together on the bottom of the headbands by making knots over the headband's elastic all around. For the back part where the ribbons will be you will need a thinner strip of ribbon and continue the tutu until it fits the back ribbons, then glue with hot glue on the inside of the back ribbons.
Third, Make a big bow with a lot of different ribbons to stand out an dglue to the side, front, back or anywhere you would like it better!
And last, add the foam stickers with hot glue on the ribbons!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
